Welcome to jazzCenter. If you are a Jazz fan, answer this question: Have you ever sat and watched a Jazz game on National television and realized that the team the Jazz are playing, no matter who it is, is getting a lot of recognition and publicity? If so, then this site is for you. This will be a place for you to show your pride as a Jazz fan, and express frustrations and excitement for the team. As a follower you can send in pictures, take polls each week, throw out ideas about what the Jazz should do for the future. This will be a site to hopefully give the Jazz, a small market team in the NBA, the recognition they deserve. I hope you will also share this site with others who you know who are fans of the Utah Jazz.

Jazz vs Kings

With the Utah Jazz taking on the Sacramento Kings in SLC, some would want to talk about the previous game against the Dallas Mavericks, but there would be none of that when someone named Jimmer comes back home.

The pregame show seemed too long, because all they did was talk about Jimmer. I'll admit, I was not as excited as most, but more anxious, to see how well he would do. I am not a huge BYU fan like some of my family and friends, but I feel like a lot of individuals were wanting the same thing as my brother told me.  That is for Jimmer to score 20 and for the Jazz to win.

It was interesting as I watched the game. Jimmer got the start, as he has been doing for the previous 3 games with Marcus Thornton out with an injury. Everytime Jimmer touched the ball, you would hear boo's from a lot of people. When Jimmer scored, you would hear even more cheers. They had to have been U of U fans. In the end, Jimmer did have a good game, and could have won it for the Kings as well. He air balled his last shot and claimed he was fouled. Now you as a fan can decide (look at the picture to the right). I think Earl Watson may have gotten away with one there. No matter, Jimmer did have a good game, and now a lot of people can see he has more to his game than just shooting and a long NBA career ahead of him.

As for the Utah Jazz, we need forget this game and we need to ignore how poorly Paul Millsap, and Al Jefferson played and focus on those who actually came to play (thankfully or it would have been an ugly loss for the Jazz). CJ Miles (20 points) and Gordon Hayward (21 Points). Even though others would consider the Kings a much lesser component, its was good to see Gordon Hayward get out of his slump. People have been calling for his head, but we also need to remember (regardless of what Karl Malone said on sports radio) that he is only in his 2nd year and only 20 years old. I'm sure behind closed doors, teammates, coaches, and Coach Horny were telling him to keep shooting, because lately, the ball has seemed like a hot potato as he's tried to get rid of it as quickly as he could. If you have been paying attention to all the games, the games against Toronto and Dallas, you could see he was close. He was attacking, and getting to the whole, but he just was scared almost to even try and score. Although, I feel his 3 point shooting still needs to get better, but I'm sure that will also come along in due time.

  1. As a jazz fan I was actually pretty embarrassed about how much cheering was done on each shot made. I am a major Jimmer homer, but in our building he should be welcomed, applauded, then remembered as an opposing player.

  2. The only thing I want to point out is that the Kings are a much better looking team without Marcus Thornton. He is easily in the top 10 if not top 5 ugliest players in NBA history. I love the Jimmer, but I really didn't care if he did well, I'm a Jazz fan and you gotta love it baby.

  3. I really think Jimmer needs to get a tan. He's glowing out there and soon they'll have to sell shades at every game he plays in.

    1. Thumbs up. The next time he comes to town, the entry prize for the first 5,000 fans will be those shades you are talking about. Apparently they don't have any sun in California.

  4. Jimmer looked passive. The Jazz played awful. It was a boring game to watch even with all the hype surrounding it. Let's hope the Jazz can find a way to win on the road bc there is going to be an exodus of Jazz fans off the fanwagon if they can't. They don't have enough talent to compete in the long run right now. The talent they have can develop, but there is still a long way to go for this team. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

  5. Who is the best player in the NBA and why did his Mother name him Paul?

  6. Why does everybody love Jimmer? Because he is white, short and he has a catchy name. I am a big fan and wish him success in the NBA. However I have a few thoughts:

Jimmer insists that he want to be point guard, but I just don't see it. I think he shoots much better when he shoots after spotting up and getting a pass.

As amazing as it is to watch him, there are plenty of 6'8" guys that shoot the same percentage. He will have to continue his recent shooting trend if he wants to survive because he give up so much on defense.
