There's not much to say about this game. I am as speechless now as I was after watching the game. I will let the following articles do all the talking for me.

Although Luke Ridnour hit the game winner, I feel this could have been prevented in 2 ways.
1- His shot at the Buzzer, our big men didn't even attempt to put a hand up to disrupt his shot at all.
2- Maybe Ridnour wouldn't even have been in the game if the Jazz would have realized who he was guarding while in the game and go right at him on the offensive end.
Some positives to take away from this; The Jazz are a better offensive team when Josh Howard is the starting 3 and Hayward moves to the 2 spot. Paul Millsap continues to show that he has Kevin Love's number.
I still feel the Jazz need make a huge change after the All-Star break. They still have the trade exception from the Memo trade. I don't really care if the Jazz make the playoffs this year, but I still want to be more competitive than they have been as of late. They need to let Millsap go. I want to show a conversation I saw on Facebook where some people think the Jazz need to keep Millsap because of his work ethic and hustle. Before the game against Minnesota, I haven't seen any hustle, just getting out hustled. I haven't seen his hard work ethic either, just someone who has been getting frustrated and letting his opponents get in his head. You are an idiot if you think the Jazz should let Jefferson go. You don't get rid of a 20 and 10 guy. You need a solid big guy if you want to win in the NBA, and lets face it, skilled big men are basically extinct. I know everyone is a Millsap fan, but pull your head out and let the emotions go and think about what you have sitting on the bench who needs more minutes (Favors).

- Name Deleted:Epic fail. Team can't defend the point guard position, it has no closer, and it can't hit the side of a barn from the perimeter. Major problems. I say we start giving the young bigs major minutes since we're going nowhere fast this season and we look for a way to deal Jefferson to find some perimeter shooting or to find a point guard who can play defense.14 hours ago via mobile · · 1

- Name Deleted: Good point. I hope they move Jefferson. I think we still need millsap's work ethic and defense.14 hours ago via mobile ·
- Names Deleted: - Millsap's contract is more affordable and desirable for other teams. He will bring back more now then I think Jefferson will. While he probably is a more valuable player to our teams success now, his numbers can easily be replaced by Favors, who needs the minutes to develop anyway.
Next season Jefferson's contract will be expiring so I think the market for him will heat up in the offseason or by next trade deadline. Same for Devin Harris, who from now on should just be called Devin Harris' s expiring contract.about an hour ago · · 1

Jazz vs Spurs
http://youtu.be/75UsbQXceoc
Utah Jazz 102
San Antonio Spurs 106 Final
I just feel like I need to get something off my chest about a conversation I watched between Matt Harpring and Thurl Bailey and Coach Phil Johnson during half-time of the game versus the Spurs. There is always this discussion between the NBA "experts" about who is the best power forward to ever in the NBA. This conversation usually comes down to 2 candidates. While Matt Harpring, who by the way played with Karl Malone while in Utah, will argue Tim Duncan is the best ever and gives him that honor solely based off the number of rings. Then you have Thurl Bailey, who played with Karl, while Karl was in his prime, and Coach Johnson, who was his assistant coach Karl's entire career say by far the Best PF to ever play the game is Malone.
Below is a list of why I think Karl Malone is the best ever and if you can think of some more, feel free to share.
1- Tim Duncan is not a PF! He is just lucky that the Spurs, once David Robinson was lost for the year, purposely lost games and the season to get the best odds of winning the #1 pick that year.
2- Tim Duncan gets credit about how strong he is, but when he goes up against guys with a lot of bulk, he struggles and then uses his quickness to get past the guys. Put Karl Malone back in his prime, now he has to go up against a guy who not only is much, much stronger than he is, but now a guy who is just as quick or even more.
3- Tim Duncan never guards the PF on the other team (see pic on left). For the last 6 or 7 years, he is listed as the PF for the Spurs because that way he can make the All-Star team every year. Funny how he is listed as the forward, but then you have DeJuan Blair, who is 6' 4" listed as the Center. It would be nice if it were possible that you had to guard the guy listed at the same position as you. NO switching on D!
4- If you put Karl Malone in the same position as Tim Duncan, meaning let him play along side a dominant Center named David Robinson, would Karl have the same, less, or more rings?
TIM DUNCAN: He also gets away with a ton. He claims he never fouls anyone. Once you get the reputation as a "great defender" or "good defender" then you pretty much get away with what ever you want as a player. Look at the picture to the right. If you watched the game then you had to of seen this play. Loose ball and Millap, who hasn't gotten a single call to go his way as of late, gets pushed and there was no foul called. This is a classic example of how the little guys in this world just get pushed around and don't get the credit they deserve, or get what's rightfully theirs because they worked hard to get it, but they gave it the guy with the "reputation". I am going to say that Tim Duncan is one of the greatest PF's ever, but not the greatest, because that belongs to Karl Malone.

Jazz vs Rockets

Utah Jazz 85 Houston Rockets 101 Final
Two things I knew going into the game against the Houston Rockets. First, I knew that Al Jefferson was going to get his numbers. He's playing so well right now, and that's on both ends of the floor. The second thing I knew, the Jazz were going to let someone have a career night. I figured it was going to be a nobody like Patrick Patterson, or Sam Dalembert. We did a pretty good job against Kevin Martin, but I really should have known it was going to be Kyle Lowry. Look at how many point guards are eating up the Jazz. I am getting sick and tired of watching the Jazz let the point guards on each team just take over the games like this. Scary to think that the next game they play the Spurs with Tony Parker. Watch him go for 50 tonight!
As usual, the Jazz keep the game close, but then half way through the 3rd they just let the other team punch them in the mouth over and over to where they don't know what to do. CJ Miles decides he wants to foul the same guy (Courtney Lee), in back to back positions, in the same spot.
Is it just me, or has our bench play gone way down? I watch them, and I just don't see the Jazz having that edge against other teams anymore. The Jazz could get a lead, and the bench could come in and either contain it or build on it. I feel they haven't been able to do that in some time.
I feel the Jazz need to trade Millsap now! He had a great offensive game last night, but Louis Scola took him all night long. Millsap could not stop him. I know everyone out there is a huge Millsap fan, but if you are a Jazz fan, then it's time to start getting Favors and Kanter more minutes and develop them. Right now Millsap could get the Jazz a lot in return. I will make this the new poll.

Utah Jazz vs Washington Wizards
Utah Jazz 114 Washington Wizards 100 Final
The Utah Jazz hosted the Washington Wizards. This time, unlike the game versus the Hornets, the Jazz took care of business.
I made a 12 hour trip up to North Idaho/Spokane Washington area to come and see family. We gathered at my brothers place to watch the game. During the game, there was a lot of debate about what we were seeing during the game, and what we thought about certain Jazz players.
We all agreed that Alec Burks needs to play more. Raja has been shooting better, but he only takes about 5-6 shots a game. Burks gives them a player who can get the team just as many points as Raja by getting them from the free throw line. He is more explosive, creative, and better in the open floor than Raja.
We can't be too excited about this game because the Jazz had 2 days off and they played another horrible team. One thing we do know, Al Jefferson needs to be put on the "untouchable" list as far as trades go. Even before this game, he has been putting up, not just consistent, but great numbers for the Jazz. I know Jazz fans want to pull their hair out sometimes because he doesn't always pass it when he's double teamed, but even then he still scores better than anyone else in those situations.
On a side note: I was listening to sports radio on 1320 the other day, and they did a text poll about wether or not the Jazz should make a move before the trade deadline or just keep the roster how it is? They were claiming they had 70-30 in favor of the Jazz to keep the roster how it is. What do you think?

http://youtu.be/lW00M642VXU Jazz 85 vs Thunder 111 Final
This was a total butt whoopin! They hung in there for a bit, but then you could tell they got tired. CJ Miles officially needs to stay on the bench. It seems he couldn't care less, as it looks like he holds a grudge for not getting more playing time. I also think it's time for Favors to jump back into the starting lineup with Jefferson. Millsap could give James Harden a run for his money for 6th man of the year. Unless we get 1 or 2 guys on the team who can shoot the ball, Millsap is going to struggle with the taller, bigger forwards he goes up against.
For the Utah Jazz, I feel there were 2 guys who deserve players of the game. That is Derrick Favors and Enes Kanter. I know Jefferson scored more than Favors and had more rebounds, but Jefferson missed a lot of close shot attepmts. Kanter had 6 offensive rebounds. These 2 were out there and played hard.

I don't know what to say! Did we really lose the Hornets last night? How could the Jazz let a team, who were without 4 of their main players, beat them? I know how, let scrubbs like Vasquez dribble around our point guards all day long and pick you apart. Question: Didn't Jazz fans want the franchise to draft Xavier Henry over Gordon Hayward? I think that's a true statement. While Xavier Henry can only get playing time when too many players are injured, you have Hayward, who along with Kevin Love, is trying to become the next great white hope in the NBA. Good call KOC on drafting Hayward.
Look at this next picture. What is this telling you? Does it tell you that Millsap played soft last night? Does it tell you that Millsap had only 4 points and got out hustled by people who were on a 10 day contract. Or can this picture tell us that they let anyone, even Bellinelli, get the rim anytime they wanted to? Millsap, I have just a little advice for you. If you are having a bad game, then you need to send a message and this picture should have been of you knocking him to the ground. How long should it take for Tyrone Corbin to see that Millsap should come out of the game and to get Favors in there? By the way, did you see some of Favors dunks last night? Just ignore the stuffing he got by the big Mexican Gustavo Ayon.
These next 2 pictures tells it all. These 2 bigs for the Hornets are who beat the Jazz. They got to all the loose balls and out hustled the Jazz big men. While Chris Kaman was shooting outside and scoring, Gustavo Ayon was busy smashing it on Kanter and Millsap. There's not much more to say about this game except that Alec Burks now needs to take over as the back up 2 guard and CJ Miles needs to stay on the bench. His outside shooting is so bad right now.

There were some good things that happened last night for the Utah Jazz. It was good to see some outside shots actually go down, and it was good to see some good defense. Although it was a fun game to watch, I can't go without mentioning how UGLY those Memphis uniforms were last night.
Gordon Hayward and Al Jefferson were by far the 2 best players last night for the Jazz. With the Jazz bench struggling to put points on the board again, the starters did a great job at hitting the open player, but also realizing who had the hot hand and getting them the ball.
Hayward finished the night with 23 points on 8-12 shooting.
Al Jefferson finished the night with 21 points and 15 rebounds.
Paul Millsap finally had a good game with 16 points and 8 rebounds
Raja Bell ended with 10 points. Devin Harris with 9 points. 1 point away form having all 5 starters in double figures.
I want to know why there was no foul called on this break away by Hayward? The picture above is what I am talking about. He was obviously hit on the head during the play. To see the play in its entirety click on the link below.

The Utah Jazz took on the Thunder last night. For the most part it was a good game to watch. I eventually, once caught up to live TV, went to watch the rest of the Jazz game on Root Sports. I was having a hard time listening to Chris Mullin and his NY accent. Coming into this game, just like everyone out there, expected Durnat to have one of those nights, but instead it was Westbrook who did. From what I saw, I think Hayward did a pretty good job of playing defense on Durant.
I still want to know where Paul Millsap has been the last 6 games. I spoke to my dad today on the phone, because he is not bias at all about certain players, and he thinks the reason why Millsap is struggling lately has more to do with the horrific outside shooting of the Jazz. Teams just back off when their man catches the ball on the perimeter, and then they just collapse to the middle to help double team. YOu already have Millsap who is undersized at his position, it's going to be difficult for him to score. So either the Jazz need to say good bye to Millsap and trade him and get something good in return or they better go and get themselves a good shooter to help solve this problem.
I've been trying to get it out there for the Jazz to go and make a trade for OJ Mayo from the Grizzlies. Drafted back in 2008 and the #3 overall pick, you can't call him a bust in the NBA. I think he could really help the Jazz with his athleticism, shooting and youth. Sometimes players just need a change to get back to where they once were, and so that's why OJ Mayo should come here and that's why CJ and Raja should go there. Sunday night when the Jazz take on the Grizzlies on ESPN, this will give the Jazz a chance to see him up close, and see how much better he is than who the Jazz have on their roster.

Sports Radio 1280 the Zone
Yesterday I called into Sports Radio 1280 the Zone. This was around 4:30 pm during the Gordon Monson show. The topic was about what the Utah Jazz should do as far as making a trade or signing. For the first 30 minutes pretty much everone was either calling in or texting about how the Jazz need to try and get Jimmer. I personally don't think the Kings would ever give him up, but I have been wrong before. Since the Paul Westphal firing, and the hiring of Keith Smart, Jimmer has taken a back seat to everyone on the Kings roster. I guess Keith Smart likes players who only want to play 1 on 1. With so many calls and text messaging into the show, I decided to call in. I wanted to give my thoughts on what the Jazz should do. Note: they cut my call off before I could give my 3rd suggestion. My suggestions were the following:
1- I mentioned that Jazz, however they could do it, should go after OJ Mayo from Memphis. It seems like every year he is on the trading blocks 3-4 times a year. Once again, he's on the Grizzly's list to look for a trade.I feel he would be a good for for a few reasons. I know his numbers are down, but it's got to be difficult to play with Rudy Gay and Zack Randolph. I think he would thrive more with a more structured offense, and with Al Jefferson getting doubled teamed a lot as well. He's also much younger than Raja Bell and much more athletic. In college he played the point at USC and he has played that role quite a bit in the NBA as well, so he could be a combo guard for the Jazz.
2-The Jazz should just keep what they have and go the rest of the season with this roster. It's a win win situation. If we make the playoffs, then they surpassed everyone's expectation. If they Don't then they still could possibly hold 2 lottery picks (Golden State's protected draft). Then for next season, the Jazz should look to replace Devin Harris and go get Aaron Brooks. He currently is playing in China, but is a free agent and the end of this season. When he was in Houston, he did everything we are looking for. He can score, shoot, break down defenses, and can actually finish at the rim. He can open up the floor for our current and soon to be shooters.
3- This is where they cut my call off short. I wanted to mention how the Jazz should go get Stephen Jackson. I think he would fit well because he can score, shoot the 3, and his personality would fit well. He doesn't take crap from anyone and has a nasty side, which the Jazz need. If this doesn't happen then the Jazz, after this season, need to go sign Ray Allen to a 2 year deal. He is the ideal person, and if they were to do that, I would be a season ticket holder. Obviously my call to the show was before the signing of DeMare Carroll. Another forward for the Jazz. Since we all know the Jazz biggest need is a 2 guard and a Point guard. So we know a trade is coming. What do you think is going to happen? Any scenarios? Let me know what you think the Jazz should do or what you think will happen?

Jazz vs Knicks
Can I tell you how sick this picture makes me? The Jazz go into New York to take on the Knicks team with out Amare Stoudamire (who has our condolences), and just minutes into the game lose Carmelo Anthony to a groin injury. When Carmelo went out I thought for sure this was going to be a "W" for the Jazz. How could I be so gullable?! I should have known 2 things were going to happen. I should have known that with Carmelo out, the Knicks would run wild and allow everyone to shoot the ball. Funny how teams play better without Melo in the game. The other thing I should have known was going to happen was the Jazz were going to let another person have career nights against them. On this night however, they let 3 players have that night: Jared Jeffries, Jeremy Lin, and of course someone who hasn't played the last 12 games in Steve Novak. By the way, is he Mormon? He looks like he would be one with the pale white skin and the farmers tan.
My disappointments for this game are:
1- Paul Millsap. Where were you the entire game? You got out hustled by Jared Jeffries. Maybe we can blame your teammates, but Novak spent a lot of time on the floor tonight and he guarded you and you did not take advantage.
2- The Jazz Bench. To have one of the top benches in the NBA you sure came out flat. You appeared to have NO energy. It seemed like Coach Corbin kept you guys off the floor for a long time and had to have the starters play a lot of minutes just so we could try and keep the game close.
3- Jazz Defense. Once again, you looked horrible on the road. It was an absolute bomb fest out there on the floor as the Knicks hit 3 after 3 after 3. Every time we were able to get within just a few to a couple points, they would come down and hit a 3. Sooner than later, the Jazz need to get this figured out.
4- Dick Bavetta (Head Official). Can this guy please retire? Yeah he's been one of the best officials ever, and he's in great shape as he proved to Charles Barkley, but this guy is old. Sure, he can run up and down the court, but maybe the NBA should have someone check his eye sight. His favorite call in the NBA is Offensive Foul and most of time the man who draws the foul is still moving. Get him out of here!

Jazz vs Lakers
As a Jazz fan, I don't know where to begin to tell you how happy I was to see the Jazz give the Lakers a full on beat down. Do I start with all the "fake" Laker fans who go to the game? I can't stand watching the game and hearing all the cheers for the Lakers when they score. Sadly, most of those Lakers "fans" probably couldn't tell you much about the teams history, former players, or anything about any of the other player who are on the team now. They just know Kobe, Gasol, and Bynum, and Fisher. They probably don't even realize that Metta World Peace is actually Ron Artest. That's how educated those "real fans" are of the Lakers.
I Love watching Kobe Bryant cry! He knows that the Jazz fans hate him, and we know, as Jazz fans, that he hates us. I love watching Kobe get mad at his teammates when they don't make an open shot. Doesn't he realize that first of all, his teammate wasn't expecting a pass because he never does the first 46 minutes of the game, and secondly, its got to be tough to make a shot if its your first one and you have no rhythm at all. I love the picture to the side, because it tells me that Kobe is a team player.
Many of you might agree with me, but many of you might disagree with me as well, but watching last nights game, I have full confidence in Grodon Hayward guarding Kobe at this point of his career. While he was guarding him, Gordon not only challenged every shot he took, but if it wasn't a jump shot, Hayward tried to block his shot every time (see side picture). Raja gets in there and loves to get physical with Kobe, but I feel at this point, Kobe sees that too much and by now is used to it. Gordon is more soft spoken, but is willing to get physical against him. Plus he has a little more size on him than Raja.
One other thought I had while watching this game last night. I want everyone's thoughts on this idea as well. I feel, against the Lakers only, the Jazz should start Kanter for Millsap. Kanter has proven to be able to hold his own against Bynum. Then you could slide Jefferson over to take on Gasol. I know everyone likes Millsap on the offensive end against Gasol, but just think of what he could do against the Lakers bench. Now the Jazz would match up with the Lakers front court with size, without losing scoring with Jefferson being guarded by Gasol. Then you add more scoring and more defense on the second units front court.
Do you agree or disagree?

Jazz vs Warriors
I want to know what your impressions were on Jamaal Tinsley's performance was. I personally thought he did a great job at running the offense, but I feel the Jazz are better off with Harris because he more of a scoring threat. I don't think the Jazz can have 2 "distribute only" point guards playing. And we need Watson to hurry and get well because Burks is not a point guard by any means.
Jamaal Tinsley: 13 assists and 9 points in 34 minutes

TNT's All-Star Snubs
I was hanging out with my son this evening, getting ready to watch TNT's pre-game show. Today they announced the starters for the NBA All-Star game. Of course you had the usuals who were voted in. May I be the first one to say that the NBA needs to figure out a way for fans who actually have a clue to be able to vote. I'm tired of watching this every year and knowing that a player like Carmelo Anthony, who has missed a lot of games so far this year, was going to get voted in because of his name and not his performance. Blake Griffin will make every year as a starter because he is known as a dunker, just like Vince Carter was the leading vote getter for a few years. Once he lost his legs, he's no longer an All-Star.
So to get to the point I want to make, Ernie Johnson, the only person on the panel tonight that wasn't a former NBA player, is the only one who had a Jazz player getting into the All-Star game. Now that the starters have been voted in, its up to the coaches to now choose the reserves. After the starters were announced, the TNT panel's choices for who they think should and will be picked, were put on display. The entire time I was waiting for someone to talk about the Jazz, but instead Shaq had Mo Williams on his list because he said he's having a good year and accepted his role to come off the bench. That is so DUMB! The panel had a handful of Denver Nuggets players including Al Harrington, who of course is also a bench player. It wasn't until the end when Ernie Johnson showed his list by itself, and he had Al Jefferson on his list. First of all, Al Jefferson is having a better season than Andrew Bynum, but of course he plays for the Lakers, but that too was expected. So now we need to figure out what's going through the minds of these ex-players who really think there are other forwards better than Millsap who should play in the All-Star game.
East: Dwayne Wade, Derrick Rose, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard
West: Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, Andrew Bynum
Who do you think should be the reserves? (East and West)
Which starter doesn't deserve it? (East and West)
THOUGHTS?
Blazers and Clippers Games
Lets start about the Jazz vs Blazers game. Coming into this game you knew that LaMarcus Aldridge was going to have a good game. Every time he plays against Utah, you fear he just might have another career night. Although Millsap held his own on the offensive end, I felt some uneasiness watching Millsap guard Aldridge. Later in the game, it was nice to see a guy who is 6' 10" with a 7' 4" wingspan, in Derrick Favors put a body on him and not allow Aldridge to just shoot over him. What was refreshing, watching the Jazz take full control of the game in the 4th quarter and not let the Blazers back into the game.
The game last night, there are no words to express what I really want
to say, with out getting in trouble, about that game last night. Coming into this game, there were 2 things I really feared. 1: I feared that Doris Burke was going to be one of the commentators. 2: We were going to hear a lot of excitement coming from whomever was going to commentate. Chris Mullin and Terry Gannon, were the ESPN commentators for this game, and from the tip-off, although the first 2 points were an ally-oop by Griffin, had a game plan to promote the Clippers. These guys couldn't stop talking about Griffin and Chris Paul. It almost seemed as if they had a huge crush on them. I understand that they are 2 great players (Griffin, Paul), but for heaven sake, give the Jazz some credit, especially while they are winning. The Jazz were up by 12 at one point, and all we heard about was how great the Clippers were. Although the Jazz lost, I still like what the Jazz have to offer. The month of February is going to really show us and the rest of the league who we really are. It was sad to watch the Jazz get out rebounded, and it was hard to see Earl Watson go down, because some feel he would have been in the game at the end and could have been the difference maker. Jefferson and Millsap did their jobs, once again, but we needed more. Hayward continues to struggle shooting from the outside, but I still like him on the floor for his defense and ability to create, and I like him in the open floor.
